Battery safety research presented at the 242nd ECS Meeting
Atlanta · October 9–13, 2022
Ph.D. student Basab Ranjan Das Goswami presented the lab’s early battery-safety results at the 242nd ECS Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.
From physical mechanisms to early warning
The work brought together multiphysics modeling and machine learning to predict electro-thermal failure in cylindrical lithium-ion batteries. This presentation established the research direction that the lab would continue to develop through experiments, physics-based simulation, sensing, and data-driven forecasting.
