Why the work matters
The presentation showed how attention-based models can learn from temperature evolution and physics-informed simulations to identify early warning signals of thermal runaway. The approach is designed to support real-time monitoring and safer operation of practical lithium-ion battery systems.
This invited contribution extended the lab’s DEPSCoR-supported program by bringing experiments, sensor response, electrochemical–thermal modeling, and machine learning into one predictive workflow.
